Dr. Tarja Cronberg

Former European Union Parliamentarian

Stockholm International Peace Research Institute

Dr. Tarja Cronberg is an academic and a politician in security and defense.  Most recently she, as a member of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee and the subcommittee for Security and Defense, worked with the Iran nuclear issue as the Chair of the EP´s delegation for relations with Iran.

She is the author of “Nuclear Multilateralism and Iran: Inside European Negotiations” (Routledge, 2017) and “The Great Balancing Act: The EU Policy Choices during the Implementation of the Iran Deal” (EU Nonproliferation Consortium, 2016).

Currently, she is a Distinguished Associate Fellow at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, SIPRI and an Executive Director of the Board of European Leadership Network working for nuclear disarmament and European security. She is also the chair of the Middle Powers Initiative, under the Global Security Institute, N.Y.
