Catholic Priest

Hun Il Kim, ordained as a priest of the Catholic diocese of Cheongju in 2002, graduated from the North Korean Studies Department of Korea University in 2007 and was the chair of Aid-to-North Korea subcommittee of the Korean Catholic Church’s Reconciliation Committee. Currently, he is the chair of the Korean Catholic Church’s Reconciliation Committee of the Cheongju diocese, the secretary general of Unitas, and a special researcher of the Peace Sharing Institute.

Priest Kim is one of the leading and active experts in religious exchanges between inter-Koreans and humanitarian aid to North Korea. He has dedicated the last 15 years to helping North Korean people in the field of inter-Korean exchanges and to working with various social organizations for peace on the Korean peninsula.
